Wee
Wednesdays
Wee Wednesdays is a six week fire safety series designed for children 2 to 5. The play date teaches fire safety using a multi-media program. Concepts include: My Friend the Firefighter, Crawl Low Under Smoke, Get Low and Go, Stop! Drop! And Roll!, Safe for Play! Keep Away!, and Meet a Real Firefighter. $5.00 per child per class, $25.00 for the six week session. 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Firehouse Tales for Tots
Join us for story time at the station! Fun, fire-themed books accompanied by finger plays, action rhymes, puppetry, and more. First Wednesday morning of every month. Ages 2-6. Free with paid admission. 10:00 to 10:30 a.m.
Second Saturdays
Spend the second Saturday of every month at the Museum to explore a different theme in Colorado’s history. Second Saturdays are perfect for children, adults and families alike. Free with paid admission. 12:00 noon

4-9—Burn Awareness Week
Join the Museum for a week full of activities on this year’s theme “Preventing Gasoline Burns.” Activities include: presentations of Sparky’s Hazard House, “Learn not to Burn,” burn first aid, videos, take home packets and more! Free with paid admission during the week. 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., & 1 p.m. Saturday the 10th is a family FREE day.
March 1—Read Across America
You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child. Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday at the Museum as Denver Firefighters read books about firefighting to children of all ages! FREE. 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
October 6th-11th—Fire Safety Week
National Fire Safety and Prevention Week is held each year in October to mark the anniversary of the 1871 Great Chicago Fire and raise public awareness of fire safety. Join us to learn about this year’s theme with hands-on activities, take home sheets, and special presentations. Free with paid admission during the week. 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., & 1:00 p.m. Saturday the 11th is a family FREE day.

Movie Night at the Museum
Watch the Museum come alive with Movie Night at the Museum the first Saturday of each month. This old fashioned family night includes soft drinks, popcorn and the movie for $5.00 per person. 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.

12—Arsenic & Old Lace Antique Road Show
Enjoy tea and crumpets while our expert antique appraisers uncover the stories and reveal the true value of objects brought in by visitors. $10.00 per object/ 2 item maximum. 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
August 2—Fun at the Fire House
Our annual safety fair offers kids of all ages the chance to try their hand with a fire hose, escape from a smoky room, ride on a fire truck, try on firefighter gear, and maneuver through the fire safety obstacle course. Firefighters from across Colorado join the celebration to demonstrate firefighting and rescue techniques. And, our community partners who share our commitment to children and family safety, will line the streets with information booths. Free. 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
September 20—Annual Wine Tasting & FUN-draiser
Please join us for our truly fun and worthwhile annual fundraising event. This themed party pairs wonderful wines and fine foods with live entertainment and a live auction. $50.00 per person. 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
October 25- Firehouse Ghosts
Bring your sleeping bag and learn why at this Fire House things still go bump in the night. This old fashioned sleep over includes a traditional fire house spaghetti dinner, ghost stories, Halloween crafts, spooky movies and a ghost tour of haunted Old Fire Station No. 1. The evening is appropriate for all ages. $25.00 per person. 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Spend Father’s Day with your children at the Museum! The day begins with a social hour and photos with Dad on the fire trucks. A traditional spaghetti dinner follows and the day ends with a Behind the Scenes tour. $12.00 per person. 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
December 13— Holiday Member Open House
Enjoy a tour of Old Station No. 1, sweet treats, a craft for children, and a visit with Santa. 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
